JRR Tolkien in the guise of Gandalf – because he is a wise, funny Epicurist and a great storyteller too boot ! What motivates you? Makes you happy? Motivates me: Stupidity that harms children and future generations spurs me into action Happy: Watching people’s minds open like sunflowers What advice would you give your 10-year-old self? Never trust an adult who start a sentence with “I don’t really want to do this, but……” or “It’s for the greater good…” If you could make 1 global change – what would it be? Make systems thinking compulsory in schools, at age 6 Skip the industrial revolution – Adam Smith and Taylorism What are your Top 3 achievements? Father, writer, teacher What does sustainability mean for you? Leave it intact or better for future generations What was the most important event/influence that changed your perspective? Realising that hedonism is a 21st Century, 1st world, authentic human disease and one needs to step quietly aside and make robust plans that educate future generations to avoid catching it Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
