If you could invite 1 person to a dinner party – who would it be and why? Albert Einstein, because I’m very interested in the physics of the interconnectedness of our world and I love that he was, at once, spiritual, scientific, and creative. What motivates you? Makes you happy? Potential. The potential we all have to create a better life and a better world motivates me to find ways to wake people up to this truth and to their own enormous power. What makes me happy? The love of my child. Laughing. A great snuggle. Inspiring people to open their minds. Being a change-maker. What advice would you give your 10-year-old self? Become very aware of little internal feelings of joy. That Is your intuition guiding you to take the next step in a purpose-driven direction. This process of creating your life based on internal guidance plus external action creates a fulfilling and purposeful life journey. If you could make 1 global change – what would it be? I’d shift people’s perspective to the reality that we are ALL CONNECTED, therefore every single action affects the entire ecosystem. This one shift in perspective, recognizing that “win-win” is more powerful than “zero sum game”, would positively affect every single decision made. What are your Top 3 achievements? 1) Learning to listen to my intuition which led to shifting to a purpose-driven career path, way back in 1997 2) Being a mother to a kind, compassionate, open-minded boy 3) Starting Significance, my purpose-driven consultancy and speakers bureau that unleashes the potential of people and brands to be a force for good, creating Champions of Good What does sustainability mean for you? For me, sustainability is about creating a world with systems that works for ALL of life. To get there requires evaluating, re-thinking, and consciously choosing to shift towards more inclusive and symbiotic approaches. True sustainability is creating a thriving world ecosystem that is fuelled by thriving individuals and thriving communities. What was the most important event/influence that changed your perspective? My mind was opened to a spiritual (NOT religious) approach to life in my early twenties by my artist mother and professor stepfather. At a pivotal early career moment, they encouraged me to do a deep inner search and outer exploration – a personal journey that led me to understand the power of love, compassion, intuition, and innovation. This profound experience taught me that recognizing and trusting intuition leads to the inner clarity which drives fulfilment. That’s where my journey of more than twenty years of a purpose-driven life and career began. Thanks Mom and Don!! Is there anything else you would like to share with us? Everyone wants to feel fulfilled. However, most people are, many times unknowingly, striving for fulfilment in a destructive manner…destructive to themselves as well as to their communities and the world. To create a sustainable world, we have to show people that contributing their unique strengths, and exerting their influence towards building a thriving world ecosystem, is what will actually bring them the sense of fulfilment they desperately seek.
